What's up, guys! I know that I have a story going on, with the blogs that I have already wrote. I decided that I will continue writing about that story next week, because this week is really special!
The OCG September 2011 banlist has been revealed!!
Since this only happens once out of every six months, I decided to cover this tonight, instead of my usual story. Tonight, I will be discussing my opinion on the list, everything that I would change, and everything that I love about it!
Let's get started!
Banned
Fishborg Blaster
Mind Master
Giant Trunade
Royal Oppression
First, let's start off with that bitch-ass, Fishborg. LOLOLOL @ people who picked these up at 40 dollars ;) I actually had personal experience with this card because I played with Monarchs for a while. Banning Fishborg pretty much destroyed the deck. Remember, the ONLY reason why this card was banned, was because of the abuse of this card with Fish OTK/Monarchs/Cloudians. First turn Shooting Quasar Dragon is bullshit, and apparently, Konami agreed. Getting rid of this bitch was necessary, but believe it or not, I feel sad for anyone that played Monarchs. But, oh well. What are you going to do? Now, people that played Monarchs can now play decks that actually require skill, no offense.
Trunade. Trunade is Trunade, and Trunade is banned. Everyone saw this coming. Basically, it was the new age Cold Wave. It doesn't destroy anything, therefore, it cannot be negated by Starlight Road or Stardust Dragon. The only answers to Trunade were Magic Drain, Dark Bribe, or even the powerful, Solemn Judgment. The card needed to go, and everyone knows what I mean by this. I feel like that is all I need to say about that, lol.
Mind Master needed to go as well. A tuner that is a Psychic form of Substitoad? Fuck that shit. Get that shit out of here before I rage quit. Konami knows that this card created OTK's, and now, the whole PsyLocke bullshit is dead. Psychics can still compete without it, don't worry.
Royal Oppression caught me off guard, but I was expecting it. I contradicted myself right there, but oh well. Konami wants XYZ's to take off and be successful, and that's exactly what's going to happen. It was a damn continuous trap card, that acted like a counter trap, for the small cost of 800 life points. Bullshit? I think so. This makes me happy because now, my JD won't be Oppressed, and I will continue to fuck shit up.
Limited
Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning
Debris Dragon
Lonefire Blossom
Legendary Six Samurai- Shi En
T.G. Hyper Librarian
Formula Synchron
Primal Seed
Shien's Smoke Signal
Pot of Avarice
HEAVY STORM!!!
Chuck, Chuck, Boom!!
Heavy Mother Fucking Storm!!!
Say hello to Starlight Road main deck, bitch! I'm glad. Starlight Road can turn the game around so much. It really is a game changer, and I just love the feeling of having Starlight Road being main decked. Also, people won't derp set!!
Summon Thunder King, Set 5 back row. Pass.
-____-
Fuck....
Heavy Storm=Good for the game. I don't care what anyone says.
BLS coming back was expected. This only enforces the fact that player priority will leave. 3 Judgment Dragon (spoiler alert!) and BLS in the same format with player priority??
Fuck that shit!
BLS will make people make Twilight. End of story.
Debris Dragon was still too good at two, so I guess putting it to one was fair enough. You can still search it with Sangan, people. Get over it..
Lonefire Blossom needed to be limited. The plant engine was too good. They needed to slow this engine down, for sure. They couldn't ban Dandylion, or Glow Up Bulb. That would be stupid. Slowing it down, like putting Lonefire to one was just right. Now, you really have to think of what you want to get with Lonefire's effect, and people are going to Limit Reverse it back for more. Whatever. Do what you got to do, I'll get MST your shit, then you will cry :)
Shi En was not necessary. Having the deck's only win condition being put to one is dumb (Bestiari). Shi En was a bitch, but there were ways around him. More like two, but either way, he is broken, and easy to get out.
Smoke Signal. Do I need to say more? Any card that is a RotA should be hit. And that is exactly what happened. Why is E Call still at three?! :(
Librarian. Psh, who saw that coming...
Formula. Psh, who saw that coming...
Primal Seed....
What the fuck is this again? I guess because they brought back BLS, they had to stop a problem before it can start.
Avarice getting limited was amazing. No more recycling Tengu and Lonefires as much, and getting a +1 out of it. That big ole' pot with the damn Hitler mustache was too good at three.
Semi Limited
Summoner Monk. XYZ and Synchro summons out the ass. All I need to say. Don't really agree with this move, but it's whatever.
Tragoedia. Twilight anybody? *raises hand*
Necro Gardna. Now this shit right here. This shit here, nigga. This shit right here! This....means I will run two Necro Gardnas in Lightsworn. I loved seeing this shit!! After all this time, Lightsworn is finally coming back, and will be a tier deck again. I have money on this :)
Dewloren. Stops OTK's, you guys should already know.
Destiny Draw. Since HERO's are getting a TON of support, this is really just icing on the cake. Let's see how this works ;)
Swords of Revealing Light. This+Mist Valley Falcon= Pissed players.
Mind Crush. I personally love Mind Crush. It has won me games. Seeing this card at two makes me happy. Agents can kiss my ass now :) Since T.G. won't be as big with Heavy coming back to the format, Agents are the only deck I can think of, other than Sabers, that Mind Crush will fuck over.
Call of the Haunted. So does mean people will start playing it now? Lol. but, it is weird to have Reborn and two CAll of the Haunted's in the same format. Usually, it's one or the other.
No Longer on the List
Judgment Dragon
Overload Fusion
Megamorph
Spirit Reaper
Gravity Bind
MST
Icarus Attack
Icarus was needed because they realized how bad they fucked Blackwings. Konami felt sorry for burning them so bad, so they had some sympathy and gave them the Icarus Attacks back. But, not enough sympathy to give them back 3 Kaluts. I'm sorry, was it too early to say that?
Gravity Bind at 3 just promotes Stall/Burn/XYZ turbo decks. Thank got at MSt at 3 and Heavy Storm back, otherwise, this would piss people off.
Megamorph doesn't really matter. This does not mean Demise is coming back.
Overload Fusion is something that I don't agree with. The only way I would agree with this is if they were to ban Future Fusion. I always hated Overdragon. Attacking me seven times was just overkill, and triple Overload is just screaming "Hey, how many times do you want me to murder you?"
MST to three surprised me. I honestly thought that it was one or the other, either give us 3 MST OR give us 1 Heavy Storm. I didn't think that they would give us both. NOBODY is going to be setting shit! LOL
Last, but certainly not least, the moment you have been waiting for... Judgment Dragon unrestricted.
LOL! Fuck all y'all bitches!
No, but seriously. I am amazed that this card went from 2 to 3. This card is too powerful to be at 3, in my opinion. That says a lot, because you know how I feel about Lightsworn. People think that Lightsworn will be a Tier 1 deck again. Well, just remember that the deck is naturally inconsistent, and it really is a luck deck. 3 JD and BLS, I can see a lot of inconsistency problems here. But, don't get me wrong, they WILL be a Tier deck again, as well as Chaos/Twilight. Now, all the banwagoneers are playing Lightsworn and Twilight now. I have been running this shit for a while, so it almost makes me mad that NOW people want to run it. But, oh well. More power to them :)
On a side note, this is the OCG banlist. On the TCG banlist, I really do believe that Reborn Tengu will be Semu Limited. Look at Allure of Darkness. THAT was a TCG exclusive, and it got E banned. Kevin Tewart once said that Reborn Tengu was a good card for the game, and probably won't get hit. He said this BEFORE Nationals, people. If he would have saw what Tengu did to our Nationals, then maybe he would consider E banning it as well.
But! That's all I got to say! Props to anyone who actually read all this in one sitting :P Next week, I'll be discussing my LS story more, so be sure to stick around for that. Thank you guys for reading, and we'll see you next time! :)
