Lightsworn: The Story Behind Me and Them. (Part One)

Hey there! Thanks again for visiting my blog! If the introduction didn't catch your attention, then maybe this next entry will do the trick. So, to continue from where I left off last week...

Here is the story of how I fell in love with the deck..

Ready?

Growing up, I have always liked superheroes. All of my friends thought that villains were the best, regardless of who they were. They thought that it was "cool" to be on the villains side of the story. I, however, never really liked the villains of stories, and always went with the superheroes, or the "good guys". No matter what, they would always prevail in the worst situations, and that's why I always liked them. My Dad ALWAYS used to tell me, that no matter how bad a situation gets, just remember that everything will be okay, everything will turn out for the best, and let the light shine in. That's another reason why I liked super heroes. I could relate what my Dad said, to super heroes.  This is where I got the inspiration for my tattoo :)

Now that you guys know this, getting into the YGO scene, I was searching for a archetype to play. They had to be good guys, or else I would not play them :P  I started off with Crystal Beasts, honestly because Rainbow Dragon in the Anime was fucking ballin as shit, and pretty much was the Charlie Sheen of the YGO world. But whenever I wanted to start playing competitively, I figured out that Crystal Beasts were not the deck to play (at the time). I started hanging out with some friends that played the game competitively at the time. This was during one of the many Lightsworn formats. I entered a local tournament, and my first matchup was against a Lightsworn deck. By the second turn, I witnessed the power of Celestia, Lumina, and of course, Puff the Magic Dragon, himself. I was amazed on how fast the match was, and asked to see the Lightsworn deck. I saw all these amazing cards, like Lumina, Celestia, Garoth, Lyla, and Judgment
Dragon. I thought they were like descendants from Heaven! Anybody can understand what I mean by that :P

Everytime I read the name "Lightsworn", I kept thinking of the quote that my Dad constantly recited to me in the worst of times, "Everything will be okay....Let the light shine in." This is where I got the inspiration to play the deck, it was mainly from my Dad. Some may laugh and think that it is dumb, but it's the truth.

I started collecting all the cards for the deck. My best friend at the time, topped many Regional tournaments with the deck. He let me see the deck, so I can get a general idea of what cards I need, and the quantity of cards. After writing down a list of cards I needed, I set off on my quest to find the cards for the deck I was destined to play.
